5 places everyone should visit in Morocco
Summer is here, essays have been submitted, exams are over and its finally time to book a holiday.
Morocco is a great summer destination for students, not only is it affordable but there are lots of things to do and see. Marrakech in particular—Morocco's most famous city—is notorious for its huge influx of tourists every year. I have been to Morocco countless times and therefore I've decided to share top five places to visit in Morocco.
Also known as the blue city, Chefchaoun is a must-see destination in Morocco. This picturesque city is located in northwest Morocco and is perfect for those that are looking to have a relaxing holiday. The city is very beautiful and the blue walls mimic the colour of the sea. It's not as busy or touristy as other parts of the country, which makes it the perfect place to relax in Morocco. The city is full of blue historic buildings, blue alleyways, blue houses and blue restaurants which makes the place extremely photogenic so you're guaranteed to be back with some beautiful Instagram photos!
2. Yves Saint Laurent Museum (Marrakech)
If you are visiting Morocco for the first time then you must visit Marrakech. The city is famous for its souks, hammams, restaurants, nightclubs and museums. The highlight of my recent trip to Marrakech has been a visit to the YSL Museum. If you have an interest in fashion I would strongly recommend that you plan a visit. The museum is relatively small, with just three rooms: one is a cinema, the second one is a room full of YSL dresses and the third one is made up of numerous YSL photos. I would recommend that you book a ticket in advance as the place is popular, a trip to the YSL Museum will cost around 100 MAD, which is not cheap, however, it's well worth a visit.
3. La Mamounia Marrakech

La Mamounia has been named the best hotel in Africa. With one night costing approximately £351, this hotel is rather pricey, but if this hotel doesn't suit your budget you can visit La Mamounia for free. Inside there are lots of luxury shops such as YSL and Dior, as well as plenty of restaurants and bar facilities which you can use even if you're not staying at the hotel. Best of all La Mamounia has one of the most impressive gardens that I have ever seen, it's full of gorgeous plants and even red cactuses!
4. Theatro (Marrakech)

Besides being known for its souks, markets, food and hammams, Marrakech is also known as the party destination of Morocco. Theatro is one of the most famous nightclubs in the country. The nightclub itself is spacious, lively, and plays modern RnB music which makes it a popular destination for tourists.
Fancy travelling across Sahara desert, kitesurfing or surfing? Located in the heart of Sahara, Dakhla attracts thousands of tourists each year with its developed water sports resort. The city is famous for its powerful winds and waves which makes Dakhla the ideal destination for surfers around the world. Dakhla is different from other crowded cities in Morocco, it's far more secluded, calm and has a distinct chill vibe. The city is full of picturesque lagoons and offers plenty of opportunities for tourists to try to surf or kitesurf.
