Top 10 student budget friendly beauty products

Keeping your makeup bag topped up is an expensive game for fashion conscious students.

Plus with plenty of assignments and lectures to keep up with, makeup is the least of your worries. Here is a run-down of my top 10 drugstore products that won't break your bank account, but will still leave you looking and feeling flawless.

NYX Professional Makeup High Definition Finishing Powder

This product retails at just £9, which is great value for money when compared to other pressed powders on the market at the minute. It softens the complexion of the skin it leaves the skin looking blurred for up to 8 hours. This is a makeup bag must have and it will achieve lasting results on any skin type. This product can be purchased in most Boots and Superdrug stores and is also available in large Debenhams stores.

Soap & Glory Supercat Liquid Eyeliner / Collection Extreme 24Hr Felt Tip Liner

Personally, I prefer a felt tip liner in order to draw my eyeliner wings on with. I have used both of these eyeliners and they equally do the job of achieving a sharp cut winged liner without having to spend your whole morning fetching toilet roll to clean up any mess. The Collection liner costs a very affordable £2.99, and the felt tip end of the liner is super soft and flexible; making it perfect for people with sensitive eyes. The Soap and Glory liner retails at £6.50, it's a much more dense liner, making the wing process much easier as it’s just a simple stroke of the felt tip.

Rimmel Natural Bronzer

No need to fear, your perfect bronzer is here! This is the best drugstore bronzer I have used by far. I was running out of my Bobbi Brown bronzer and needed a similar product, but for a fraction of the price. By choosing Rimmel, I was able to find a much more affordable bronzer, which cost just £5.99. This product is amazing for adding some warmth and glow to your face before you begin contouring. It easily glides onto the skin and lasts all day.

Revlon Colorstay Foundation

If you’re looking for an inexpensive, long-wearing foundation, then this is the one for you. With 30 different shades to choose from, you are guaranteed to find your perfect match to suit your skin tone. Revlon offers two different types of this particular foundation which is aided to suit your skin type. These include normal/dry and combination/oily skin types, making it available for everyone. This foundation costs just £12.99 making it relatively reasonably priced, considering the cost of most high-end foundations on the market today. Revlon Colourstay achieves extremely similar results and makes an excellent dupe to the likes of Estee Lauder’s Double Wear foundation.

NYX Professional Makeup Butter Gloss

These butter glosses come in a range of 34 shades to choose from and cost £5.50 each. They give you a perfect tint and a long-lasting shine across your very kissable looking lips. From trial and error, these are the best drugstore glosses on offer.

NYX Tame & Frame Brow pomade

NYX Tame & Fame Brow Pomade is very similar to the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow with its texture being smooth and creamy. It will give you that sharp, ombre brow that all us girls dream of. It retails at £6 and will last you for months, with just a tiny amount of product giving you big results. The best way to use this is by heating it slightly with a hairdryer making it super creamy and easy to apply, use a dense eyebrow brush to give you sharp edges and to finish up, carve out the brow with a full coverage concealer of your choice.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara

. . . . #kozmetik #rimel #maskara #maybelline #lashsensational #gratis #whatsons #makyaj #makeup #dolgunkirpik #kirpik #güzellik

A lash defining mascara that will give you sumptuous volume and lots of texture. This Maybelline mascara is perfect for glamming up your eyes for a night out to add that little extra something without adding falsies. One coat usually works well for day-to-day makeup, however, a few coats will be best suited to a more glamorous look. The price of this mascara is £8.99, which in comparison to other drugstore mascaras is relatively high, however, this one is sure not to let you down. It's curved brush strokes that separate each individual lash will leave your eyes looking sensational.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water 400ml / Primark Cotton Oval 120 pads

When you get home from uni after a long day of listening to lectures or coming in at the early hours of the morning after a night out, scrubbing the life out of your face is the last thing you want to do. However, I can assure you this product is going to be your go-to cleanser for removing every inch of that makeup you spent hours doing. I use the cleansing water with Primark's cotton pads which only cost 90p, these pads are the best for quickly removing all makeup and they don’t break up on your face which is always a bonus!

If you keep up to date with beauty gurus on YouTube, you will have definitely heard this product being ranted and raved about. This concealer is similar to high-end Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer, which is a hefty £24 as opposed to £3.99 for this tube full of magic. There are 4 different shades available which are; light, medium, warm medium and dark. I tend to use the lightest shade to highlight and colour correct underneath my eyes. I also use it to highlight other key places such as, down the nose, the centre of my forehead, underneath where my contour would go on the cheekbones, and on the chin. This concealer is simply one of my all time favourite makeup products.

New Look’s Blush Eau de Parfum 100ml

New Look took me by surprise with this product, especially because I hadn’t tested out any of their beauty range before. A friend made me try some of hers and I was shocked that it wasn’t Chanel’s Mademoiselle because it’s almost identical! 100 ml of this delicately fresh, oriental fragrance costs just under £15. So, if you like champagne priced perfume but can only afford Lambrini, then this is one of the best faux perfumes around.
