These are the best nightclubs for students in Nottingham
Going on a night out is most students favourite thing to do, and when you look at the nightclubs that are on offer, it's clear why Nottingham is the perfect place.
The city centre is always lively no matter what day of the week it is so there is always something to do, whether that be a nightclub, restaurant or cocktail bar. Here's a rundown of the most popular nightclubs in the city.
Rock City doubles as a nightclub and a gig venue and has a variety of club nights which cater to everyone's music taste. Thursday's are Tuned, a student night with 2-4-1 drinks, Friday's are Get Lucky, a night perfect for pop and RnB lovers, while Saturday's are Hey Hey Hey which is perfect for those who love rock, pop punk and cheesy hits (this night is my favourite). Also, they're currently selling chunks of their old sticky floor—which is brilliant.
This night is popular for both Nottingham Trent students who go to Ocean in fancy dress on a Wednesday and University of Nottingham students who go on a Friday. While I can't speak about the former, I can say that the latter will be one of the best nights out you've had. You can get in with a student ID and you can ask for friends from other universities to be added to a guest list. The music is predominantly cheese and pop, but the highlight of your night will be when they play the Baywatch theme tune and everyone takes their tops off.
This venue has several different rooms inside catering to different tastes in music, such as cheese, pop, rock, RnB and rap, as well as having a Bierkeller inside. If you're a University of Nottingham student you will most likely want to go to a Lemonade Monday club night.
Rescue Rooms hosts quiz nights, gigs and club nights. For the club nights, the music is most likely going to be pop, indie and RnB, especially if you go on a Saturday night which is Stealth v Rescue Rooms, which I highly recommend and gives you access to Stealth too. The bar has a vintage theme, with fairy lights and pretty decor. One of the best nights I've been to there was a Stranger Things themed night, where they played 80s music all night.
This is most popular with first-year students who go on a Thursday night. These are often themed student nights and it's perfect for those who like pop and rnb as there are two different rooms. The drinks are inexpensive and this venue is opposite a McDonalds, perfect for all your drunk food requirements.
Hopefully one—or all of these nightclubs tickle your fancy as you head to Nottingham to start your studies. My favourites are Rock City, Ocean and Rescue Rooms, but all of them are a great night out.
