Man at Festival

The best UK festivals that you need to go to this summer

If you're struggling to decide which festival to go to then look no further.

Read this and still be undecided.

All Points East, 24 May - 2 June

Spread over two weekends in London's Victoria Park, All Points East boasts names from across the board including The Chemical Brothers, The Strokes, Princess Nokia, Jarvis Cocker, Courtney Barnett and Kurt Vile. There's also a load of (free) stuff happening between the two weekends if you're planning to stick around and if you're not... I've got no idea how you'll choose which day to go for—and they've still got the second Saturday to be announced! (You'll probably find me at Hot Chip on the 24 May...I think.)

Tickets range from £59.95 to £65 + booking fee.

Parklife, 8 - 9 June

Welcome to Parklife 2019... Tickets now on sale parklife.uk.com

A post shared by Parklife (@parklife_festival) on

Yeah, okay, it's a good lineup, we get it. However is it £125 worth of good? (+ booking fee.) There's no camping and there are only two days, but they are the only downsides I can think of. The lineup poster is really mesmerising and shows off some big names including Cardi B, Solange, NAS, Mura Masa and Loyle Carner.

Download, 14 - 16 June

This one's not for the faint-hearted with headliners such as Slash, Slipknot, Whitesnake and Def Leppard (which I've been led to believe are really good). All jokes aside, Download never fails to provide a banging lineup, but it comes at a not so tasty price of £220 (+ booking fee) for a five-day camping ticket. But then if you're a rock fan there's not much else.

Love Supreme, 5 - 7 July

Posted by Love Supreme Festival on Wednesday, 23 January 2019

Okay, you've most likely never heard of this one, but let me assure you Love Supreme will not disappoint. Ms. Lauryn Hill is headlining and she's backed up by the Empress of Soul, Gladys Knight (who has just performed at the Super Bowl). A jazz festival isn't the most glamorous-sounding weekend but it's so much more than just jazz. Oh, and tickets are just £169.40 (including booking fee).

Lovebox, 12 - 13 July

Look at this lineup...and only the first drop!! Lovebox you've spoiled us: Chance, Solange, Kaytranada, Lizzo...and all for £99! (+ Booking fee and no camping, so you'll also have to find some ££ for those London hotels.)

Truck, 26 - 28 July

Truck Festival is one of the UK's best small festivals and it has a reasonable ticket price of just £118 (including booking fee), Truck is a great alternative to consider with huge names released in their first wave of artists including a homecoming show from Foals.

Boardmasters, 7 - 11 August

Set on the idyllic Watergate Bay on the Cornish Coast, Boardmasters is the festival of your dreams. With headliners including Florence & The Machine and Foals accompanied by Franz Ferdinand, The Magic Gang, Jorja Smith, Slaves and loads more across twelve stages. And if this isn't enough you can head to Fistral Beach to do some surfing (or just to soak up some rays).

...And if this still isn't enough a weekend camping ticket is just £187 (including booking fee).

Green Man, 15 - 18 August

Father John Misty, Idles, Car Seat Headrest, Maribou State, Whitney and countless others are headed to the Breacon Beacons for a magical weekend at this self-described "shindig". Therefore, with 10 areas showcasing the best of music, comedy, film, literature, and both performing and visual arts, this unique festival will keep you on your toes on all four days.

Tickets are £198, but £170.75 if you've got an NUS card (these include booking fees).

Reading & Leeds, 23 - 25 August

With a lineup to please everyone (unless you hate The 1975, I guess) these sister festivals are well-established in the UK's festival calendar and never fail to disappoint, but with a hefty ticket price of over £220 (including booking fee), is [whichever you're closer to] really worth it? A quick glance at the lineup will probably answer that...
