The best Halloween nights out: Birmingham

Time to get your freak on.

It’s always a struggle to know where to spend your Halloween. It’s time to stop panicking though, as here is a round-up of the best events going on in Birmingham this Halloween.

1. Tektu: Halloween Special

Tektu is taking over Lab 11 on 31st October for the second ever Tekfest. Expect at least three open rooms each with a different type of music, live DJs and decoration taken to another level. Dressing up is encouraged and doors open at 11 pm and close at 1 am. It’s promised to be their biggest show to date, and with tickets already on final release you need to act fast if you want to be there.

2. Triple Cooked: Disco of the Dead

Another event on the 31st October is Triple Cooked’s Disco of the Dead at Boxxed. Taking over the massive warehouse on the outskirts of Birmingham they promise a frightful night of house, disco and tech music, meaning they have something for everyone. Tickets are also on final release, so be quick to get tickets if you want to attend.

3. Fab n Halloween

If you’re looking for a classic night out then Fab is the answer. This time Fab has upgraded with a fancy dress party and spooky silent disco, the perfect way to dance the night away into the early hours of Halloween. Expect a lot of cheesy music and numerous VKs, but a guaranteed good time. Paper tickets can be bought a Joe’s Bar.

4. Magic Door

If going out on Halloween wasn’t enough for you then check out Magic Door at Lab 11 on the 2nd November. A couple days after Halloween, this promises outfits galore, scary house music and crazy decor. It’s a good way to extend your Halloween celebrations. Tickets are already on third release so make sure to get one soon before the price goes up!

5. Applebum: The Hip Hop Horror Show

Taking over The Mill, a brand new venue in Digbeth, is Applebum’s Hip-Hop Horror Show on the 31st October. Specialising in urban and hip-hop music, they promise throwback songs as well as future classics, set in a mezzanine warehouse with a rooftop garden, you’ll definitely be able to snap that perfect Instagram post. Tickets are on final release and will sell out so get yours sooner rather than later.

6. Halloween Weekender at The Night Owl

The Night Owl is throwing three different events this Halloween weekend. On Friday the 26th things get freaky at Le Freak presents: Super Freak. Expect thriller style dance-offs, with prizes for the best moves, and costumes galore alongside 70-80’s disco, funk, and soul—it’ll be a positive vibe, dance-all-night kind of evening. On the Saturday the yre hosting a party inspired by the hit TV-show Stranger Things. The Night Owl will be decked out with classic scenes from the TV-show, have themed cocktails, on-stage games, and prizes for the best dressed. All this will be happening to a soundtrack of 80’s and alternative music. If you’re not all partied out by Sunday the 28th, you can head down to the Make it Reggae Ghost Dance, which is an all-day dance party starting at 2 pm. There will be reggae, ska and rocksteady music alongside a BBQ to bring back a taste of summer, all for free entry. All tickets can be purchased online.
