The best budget-friendly makeup brands

Makeup can be so expensive these days, and it can be impossible to find nice (and good) makeup on a student budget.

These brands are cheap but have great quality products on offer. The kind that has good pigmentation, stays on your face all day and looks amazing. This is the definitive list of the best budget-friendly makeup brands to check out next time you wanna get a little spendy, without breaking the bank.

1. Morphe

Starting with a US favourite, Morphe. They’re well known for their widely recognised 35O palette—which is constantly sold out due to popularity. They average at around £20 for 35 shades, which is pretty good value for money if you ask me. They have a wide range of palettes, and also do cheap brushes, face, and lip products. This is probably more pricer than brands found in Boots and Superdrug but it’s worth it for the quality. They now ship easily to the UK and have a UK website so it’s easy to get your hands on their products.

2. Makeup Revolution & Obsession

If you haven’t heard of Revolution you must’ve been living under a rock. They’re one of the best cheap beauty brands currently on the market and are stocked in Superdrug and have an online website. Revolution also owns Obsession and Revolution Pro—which also produce cheap makeup—but all their brands are 100% cruelty-free. Eye palettes are £10 and under and they have an amazing range of shades, and the pigmentation for the price is unreal. They were recently in the news for their new launch, the Revolution conceal & define full coverage foundation, which at £9 is meant to be one of the best full coverage foundations on the market right now. Revolution does good makeup for cheap prices, no complaints here whatsoever.

3. Pixi

Slightly on the higher end of cheap is a recent discovery, Pixi Beauty. You may know them for their famous glow tonic, and while their skincare is amazing, they also do great makeup too. Their makeup is perfect if you prefer a more natural look. They have a lot of brightening products to help you achieve that fresh, glowy look. Product prices range anywhere between £6-£24, but for first-time orders they offer a 10% off code, so you can still buy their products without breaking the bank.

4. CYO

CYO is fairly new on the scene and are currently stocked in Boots and have a UK website. They have beautiful single colour eyeshadow pots starting at £3.50, a whole range of multi-use products and cheap brushes which are perfect for student budgets. Their makeup has good shade range and simple, yet sleek, packaging which is remarkable for a newer beauty company. This brand would also be good for people just starting out with makeup.

5. e.l.f

e.l.f. makeup is stocked at Superdrug after finally coming over to the UK. They were notoriously known in the US for their cheap makeup and now we get the pleasure of being able to test it out ourselves. Makeup ranges from £1-£10, with palettes being the most expensive thing at £10 for 10 shades, and everything is cruelty-free. e.l.f try and bring luxury to everyone with their sleek, expensive-looking packaging, and good quality makeup, but for student-friendly prices.

These five brands are the best budget beauty brands currently stocked and easily available in the UK. Hopefully, you’ve been able to find the perfect alternative and new brand to try that fits your budget.
