Here are all of the new films and TV shows coming to Netflix in October
October is here: which means university has officially started for the year and so has procrastination in its purest form—binge-watching.
Here is a selection of upcoming additions to Netflix's streaming catalogue this spooky season.
The Good Place – Season 4:
The final season to this insane fantasy comedy sees Kristen Bell navigating her way through the afterlife, as a member of 'The Good Place'. But rather than enjoying her eternal paradise, she begins to wonder whether she should actually be there. This fast-paced show has a stellar cast of lovable characters, with some crazy plot lines that I doubt will ever be replicated on TV again. Seasons one-three are also available on Netflix, giving you the perfect opportunity to catch up before the show reaches its conclusion.
The new season began on the 27th of September, with a new episode being added every Friday.
The Big Bang Theory – Season 12:
Netflix will finally add the final season of one of the longest-running sitcoms, Big Bang Theory, which finally came to an end earlier this year after being on TV since 2007. Whether you love or hate this nerdy comedy, you can't help but wonder how Sheldon, Leonard, Penny and their fellow socially awkward friends will end up during the finale of this series.
The full season will be released on Netflix on the 1st of October.
Riverdale – Season 4:
This melodramatic teenage hit has already been through a rollercoaster of plot lines in its first three seasons, and we can expect nothing less during its fourth year. Based on the well-loved Archie Comics, Riverdale follows teenagers Archie, Betty, Veronica and Jughead as they go through everything teenagers shouldn't. Serial killers, whodunits, and even brainwashing cults! Did I mention the occasional musical episodes? Whilst the writing can be questionable at times, it's difficult to not carry on watching this show just to see how far the madness can go...
The season premiere will be added to Netflix on the 10th of October, with each episode being added weekly.
El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie:
With this year marking the sixth year since Breaking Bad reached its conclusion, Netflix has decided to continue where the show left off with El Camino. Aaron Paul returns as Jesse Pinkman, who needs to escape his past whilst on the run from the law, as well as his captors.
Netflix will release the film on October 11.
Bad day? Already stressed out with uni? Having a slight breakdown? It's time to stick Shrek on. The legendary 2001 animated comedy will be returning to Netflix, with its hidden adult jokes and pop culture references.
Shrek will be added to Netflix on the 11th of October.
Insatiable – Season 2:
Insatiable was one of Netflix's most controversial shows when its first season was released in 2018. Following Patty, a teenager who was bullied for her weight and appearance undergoes a dramatic change when her jaw is wired shut after a freak accident. Whilst the dealing of topics such as eating disorders and beauty standards could be seen as enlightening, many believe the show to just be offensive. Catch up on season one and see what you think of the disputable black-comedy.
