Misbehave Mag: a magazine that represents unruly & empowered young women
With numerous sexist calamities happening all over the world such as the recent Alabama abortion ban, women have been left feeling degraded and powerless; something that Misbehave Mag believes no woman should ever feel.
Introducing Misbehave Mag, the new digital hub for empowering women through creativity and by smashing social standards.
After chatting with the lovely Founder and Director of Misbehave Mag, Santeni Brown, I really got a feel for the Misbehave Mag and everything it stands for.
Misbehave Mag stand by the veracious philosophy that females are invincible and that nothing should stop them from achieving their ambitions.
The main aim and purpose of the magazine is to support and encourage young women to follow their creative dreams. The magazine offers guidance through their journey by holding workshops, panels and events.
Through their playful yet mature aesthetic and positive outlook, Misbehave represents women who are unruly, encouraging and supporting them to live beyond social standards and cultivate a new path for the next generation. The London based magazine covers everything from the latest in fashion and beauty to showcasing London's newest talents, youth culture and female empowerment by supporting and building relationships with like-minded women.
So, what can we expect from Misbehave Mag's first issue?
Following the inspiring topic of empowering woman, the first issue of Misbehave Mag will involve discussions of the compelling talking point 'Being a woman in an industry dominated by men'. Interviews from well respected and influential women from the creative industry sharing how they got into the job roles in which they have today will also be featured. Neon brights and muted pastels will be flaunted in their latest editorial shoot, representing London's exciting and innovative youth culture, featuring genderless fashion and women wearing whatever the hell they want to!
Celebrating women for what they are, and who they are instead of idolising and chasing perfection, embracing your own beauty is the ultimate goal for Misbehave Mag's first issue; showcasing real skin, pores, unruly eyebrows and promoting beauty beyond social standards.

Misbehave's focus to support and empower young women reaches much further than the magazine itself. With it's inspiring Founder and Director organising workshops for young women still in education, supporting them into finding their feet in a creative industry that is 100% based on passion and not purely grades or academically driven. In the hope of collaborating with brands such as Social Fix, Misbehave also aims to offer young women internships for roles in the creative industry to help them gain invaluable experience in the field.
“I want to give young women the opportunity to learn more about themselves and explore their creative flair, giving tips and putting them in contact with the right people to help guide whatever it is they're passionate about and making it a job or career.”
- Santeni Brown, Founder and Director of Misbehave Mag.
With Misbehave Mag launching their first issue, its only fitting that it comes hand in hand with an exciting launch party that can't be missed! At the launch party, taking place on the 29th May 2019 in Shoreditch, you can expect to see live performances from amazing artists Nipah, J Elle and Dominique Laurn, alongside a great lineup of DJ's including the likes of Rebecca Tyson, Donch and Chris K.
