Met Gala 2019: which Kardashian was the best dressed?
Costume Institute Gala—which is most likely known for the Met Gala—always traditionally takes place in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
The founder of the Met Ball, Elenor Lambert, was an American fashion publicist and held the first Met Gala in 1948 to make donations from New York’s association. Celebrities from the fashion, film, music and art scene attend the Met Gala every year to fundraise for the Met’s Costume Institute and to honour the grand opening of the Metropolitan Museum of Arts newest exhibition.
The theme for this years exhibition was Camp: Notes On Fashion.
The Met Gala 2019 has marked its 71st anniversary which saw famous celebrities walk down the red carpet including big names such as Lady Gaga, Harry Styles, Celine Dion, Kim Kardashian, Zendaya and many more.

Exploring the theme of this year's Met Costume Institute exhibition Camp: Notes on Fashion, and in celebration of the Thierry Mugler: Couturissime exhibition at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, the house of MUGLER honours a daring legacy through Mr. Mugler’s singular, forward-thinking vision of camp. On this occasion Kim Kardashian wore a wet look dress by Manfred Thierry Mugler, a creation based on archive pieces for the MUGLER fashion house. - - #mugler #kimkardashian #metgala #muglerarchives @manfredthierrymugler @kimkardashian
Kim Kardashian might have looked like a million pounds at this year's Met Gala with her dripped, teardrop jewels, but the effort and hard work behind the dress was quite shocking. Kim said she couldn’t even sit down on her way to the Met Metropolitan Museum, she had to hire out a van and held on to a pole on her journey to the Met Gala.
The dress was designed by Mr Mugler himself, which was the first time he had designed for House of Thierry Mugler in 20 years. Kim revealed that her dress was designed and created eight months before the Met Ball. The latex corset clung to her body perfectly. She wore her hair with a wet look and made sure her skin looked flawless and dewy. Kim Kardashian also couldn’t use the toilet for four hours during the event as once the dress was on; it was quite difficult to take off.
Kylie & Kendal Jenner
Kylie and Kendal really went all out for the Met Gala, both of the sisters took it to another level as they both came out in hundreds of flawless bright feathers. Kendall set the whole red carpet on fire with her vibrant orange dress and orange flame feathers surrounding the back of her head. While Kylie really showed us how to pull off the colour purple—in the best way possible—with her violet hair and matching boa.
The two sisters say, they really "went for it" and designed their looks with Donatella Versace. Kendall wore Tiffany & Co jewellery to finish off her look. Kylie said she was finding it hard to decide which feather piece looked best with her outfit, and she was planning to wear a feather headpiece instead of the violet feathered sleeves.
The Jenner sister’s appearance, surprised the media and public as over the years the reality star family never kept to the Met Gala theme. Fans say, they really showed people that they can follow the theme this year, as people said that their last year’s outfit was quite 'boring'.
Lastly, the boss lady herself, Kris Jenner, walked down the red carpet unrecognisable with her freshly-blonde bob, whilst wearing a navy-blue jumpsuit and a ruffled jacket. Kris’s outfit was designed by Tommy Hilfiger and inspired by David Bowie.
