Kanye/Kim K inspired lookbook: how to dress like the Kardashians on a budget
As controversial as Kanye West's Twitter ramblings are, there is no doubt that he is a genius when it comes to fashion.
Learn how to recreate his monochromatic 'Yeezy' outfits without breaking the bank...
1. Looking Bomb
The green bomber jacket was a piece seen in Yeezy's first season back in 2015. The militant, khaki tone of the jacket reflects the revolutionary and political stance Kanye West has in society. Kanye's designs are bold, empowering and controversial—much like his personality.
2. Feeling Blue
Yeezy's newest collection was advertised by non-other than Kim Kardashian, who was shot by paparazzi in her teal toned outfit in Tokyo.
Relying on paparazzi to take shots of his wife was a risk, but was a genius idea as the publicity received from this tactic was vast. The Yeezy collection evolved from its traditional skin-toned pallet, by indulging into blue hues. I recreated this look with a sweater top from Missguided and tight fitted bottoms from Boohoo.
I finished the look with a pair of trainers from Boohoo, that looks like a hybrid between the Yeezy desert rats and Yeezy Waverunners.
3. Barely There
A Yeezy lookbook is not complete if it doesn't include at least one all nude outfit. Inspired by Kanye's 2015 collaboration with Adidas, I chose to go for a monochromatic look. Kanye wanted to elaborate on the importance of diversity, race and identity in his shows by casting a wide range of models.
I paired a ribbed top from H&M with some loose combat trousers from Pretty Little Thing, that include detailed side pockets which come in handy if you don't like carrying a bag.
3. All White
Comfortable, minimalist and versatile. Is it even a Yeezy inspired outfit, if you can't wear it to the grocery store as well as on the runway?
Kanye's season four collection consisted mostly of white silhouettes. Carvalho was shot in an oversized white puffer jacket that seemed to engulf her. Similarly, Braina Laviena was drowning in loose tracksuit bottoms and a white sweater that almost reached her knees.
I recreated the oversized, comfortable look with a cream puffer from Missguided. Longer at the back and shorter at the front, this unusually shaped jacket added a unique angle to the outfit. The white bottoms are also from Missguided but have been distressed by hand.
5. I Feel Like Pablo
Kanye Wests Pablo merchandise has been a hit with his fans as much as his music has. After opening his pop up shop in Soho, NYPD had to close off an entire block due to the huge fan turnout. Inspired by his album cover art for 'The Life of Pablo', the merch consisted of orange and burgundy hues, with lettering inspired by tattoo art. Kanye's designs soon enough influenced retail stores like H&M.
