How to stay as productive as possible during exam season

With the long stretch of exam season far ahead of you, it can be hard to stay motivated.

A lack of motivation hinders your revision and overall positivity, and both of those things are vital for doing your best in your exams. Here are some tips to help you stay motivated.

Make your bed first thing in the morning

I never used to do this but since I've started making my bed every morning it has been life-changing. To have a tidy environment stemming from this small task sets the tone for the rest of the day ahead, and gives you something to look forward to knowing you can get in it at the end of the day after a hard day of work. Open your curtains and get to work!

Make a revision timetable

This is great for having multiple exams and working out which topics you need to prioritise. It's also a great way to see how your week looks so you can set aside time to do fun things with your friends. Just make sure to follow the plan and make sure you haven't prioritised work you find easier and more fun. You can jazz it up with some coloured pens and stickers to make you feel more at ease, and stick it to your wall.

It's so much easier if you have all of your dinners and lunches cooked and ready to eat for the week. Things such as curry, pasta, stir-fry and chilli are great meals to bulk cook. You can also make overnight oats for breakfast and save time in the mornings too.

Get enough sleep

This is the most important one: get enough sleep! Your memory and focus will not be acting at its optimum potential if you're falling asleep at a computer screen. Eating, drinking water and sleeping will help keep you alert and energetic for the tough day ahead. Don't use your phone too late at night and definitely don't consume too much caffeine or this will hinder the quality of your sleep.

Hopefully these tips will help you work at your best this exam season. Remember, it's okay not to feel productive all the time and it's important to give yourself breaks.
