Extreme tattoos: 5 unique looks that broke tattoo taboos
Extreme tattoos are becoming more and more prevalent, as tattoos become more acceptable.
Figures suggest that about one in five UK residents are tattooed.
1. The charismatic and bubbly man Lucky Diamond Rich
New Zealand-born Lucky Diamond Rich (real name Gregory Paul McLaren) is the Guinness World record holder of the most tattooed person in the world, a title he's held since 2006. He has tattoos from head to toe—even on the insides of his eyelids and on his foreskin! According to his Instagram, he currently works as an international performer and tattoo artist.

Sad news that Tom Leppard aka "The Leopard Man of Skye" passed away at the weekend at the age of 80. I would have loved to have met him, I know a few people who did and by all accounts he was a extremely charming and nice man. http://stv.tv/news/highlands-islands/1357404-tattooed-leopard-man-of-skye-dies-in-care-home-aged-80/ #tomleppard #theleopardmanofskye #leopard #tattoos #fullbodytattoos #worldrecordholder #restinpeace #photooftheday
Former special forces solder Tom Leppard, known as the Leopard Man of Skye, spent over £5,000 on his body art after leaving the military and was at one point the title holder for the world's most tattooed man. In an interview, he said he had no regrets about tattooing his body. Adding that "people have been brainwashed into thinking that a tattooed person is just a criminal and that's it. [My tattoos] haven't changed me but they've changed the view people have of me." Surprisingly, he said he felt no affinity with leopards, despite his whole body being dedicated to the animal.
3. The Enigma
The Enigma, covered head-to-toe in blue jigsaw pieces and body mods, has made a career out of his look—performing at musical festivals and tattoo conventions to the delight and awe of audiences. There is a common misconception that all people with tattoos are antisocial and intimidating, whereas The Enigma is the opposite of that. In the video above, he lights up the stage with his charming personality.
4. Zombie boy Rick Genest
Rick Genest was a Canadian artist, actor and model, known as Zombie Boy to his fans. In 2011 he made it into the Guinness World Records for 'most insects tattooed on the body'. That same year, he became internet famous when he featured in Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" video.
5. Charlotte Guttenberg
The 69-year-old Floridian shot to fame in 2015 as the world's most tattooed, female senior citizen. Over 91.5% of her body is covered in ink. Ouch, that must have hurt.
So what's the consensus on this?
Tattoos are here to stay. Yes, most of us don't go the same extremes as these people, and such modifications are still not considered aesthetically 'pretty' by mainstream society, but we are becoming more and more accepting of these people; they are humans with feelings, just like the rest of us.
