5 ways to make 2019 a Happy 'You' Year
It's never too late to set a New Year's resolution.
You might be well into your New Year's resolutions by now—or failing them already—but it's never too late to make 2019 a 'Happy You Year': a year where you're the happiest version of yourself.
Here are a few suggestions to help you make 2019 your best year.
1. Spend some time away from social media
I know that scrolling through social media is great when you're bored and seeing posts and videos does make us happy, but spending time away from social media can be beneficial. It isn't just a good idea to have time away from social media to have a break from the toxic aspects of social media, but it can free up time for you to do something else.
2. Remove 'toxic' things
I won't be the only person who encourages this one. I'm not talking about a complete removal operation, but make it your mission to remove one 'toxic' thing from your life this year—whether it be a person who won't text you back or someone who doesn't make time for you—whatever it is, leave it in 2018; 2019 doesn't need that kind of negativity.
3. Save some money
Money isn't the route of all happiness, but spending a little bit less might just make you happier in 2019. I'm not suggesting you sacrifice the post-lecture coffee—let's face it, everyone needs that—but, put some money aside each week and you'll be surprised by how much you can save.
4. Smile more
Yes, 'resting bitch face' has become something of a trademark, but to be happy in 2019 we should all smile more. Not only does it take fewer muscles to smile, but you'll feel good, and the people around you will too.
5. Get involved with a hobby
Knitting? Drawing? Swimming? Whatever that 'something' you've wanted to do is, don't be afraid to get involved with a hobby this year. Give that one thing a try and you might find something you love.
