5 of the best student drinking games

No matter what, you are most likely forced to participate in drinking games at pre-drinks to get you ready for the night ahead.

So grab your bottle of Echo Falls or your box of Budweiser, because these five games will definitely get you in the mood for a dance.

Jai Ho

What you will need:

- A speaker

If you are familiar with the film Slumdog Millionaire, then I’m sure you will have heard the theme song for the film, “Jai Ho (You Are My Destiny)”. Sung by American girl group The Pussycat Dolls, the song was unavoidable when it first debuted in 2009, and has now made its comeback in the form of a deadly new game.

The rules are simple, the song features the phrase “Jai Ho” a total of 43 times. The first player drinks when they hear this phrase and does not stop until they hear the phrase repeated again. They then pass it on to the next player in the circle. By the end of the game, you will be dancing along to the song like nobody's watching.

Of course, if The Pussycat Dolls aren’t your style, there are plenty of alternatives for you and your pals to drink along to. Whether it’s Baby by Justin Bieber or Gucci Gang by Lil Pump, you will be lucky if you manage to make it to the club.

A post shared by Maddi Binney (@baddi_minney) on

What you will need:

-Duct Tape
-2 x 1L bottles of alcohol.

With this game, each player must duct tape a 40-ounce (roughly 1 litre) bottle of alcohol of their choice to both hands, not removing them until they are completely empty. This might sound easy, but it won't be once you realise you need to use your hands for almost every little task. Whether it’s simply to itch your chin or check your Snapchat, you’ll find yourselves becoming drunk very fast to free your hands, and looking completely hilarious whilst doing so.

Drunk Jenga

What you will need:

- Jenga
-Marker Pen

To play this game, everyone needs to write some rules and challenges on each Jenga block so that none are left blank. Some examples of what could be written are: choose one person to down their drink, all girls take a drink, everyone takes a shot, it's up to you to get creative! You then play using the normal rules of Jenga, with each player carrying out the rule written on the block they pull. If that wasn’t enough, whoever ultimately causes the tower to topple has to down their drink.

Sip Sip Shot

What you will need:

-Lots of space.

This is an adult version of the childhood classic Duck, Duck, Goose. One player walks around the circle tapping people on the head saying “sip”, meaning those people must take a sip of their drink. They will eventually choose an unlucky victim and say “shot”, meaning that person must chase them around the circle, taking a shot if they do not catch them. If pre-drinks weren’t messy enough, throw in a group of students running drunkenly around the room to make it a night to remember.

Beer Pong

What you will need:

-A table or countertops.
-Ping pong ball
-Lots of cups

A classic drinking game that will never get old, beer pong is for everyone. Simply set up cups on each side of the table, the goal being to throw the ping pong ball in your opponents cup so that they have to down the drink. If you’re feeling particularly crazy, swap out the beer with any drink of your choice and fire away.

Remember to drink responsibly.
