4 things every girl should know before getting lip injections
Lip injections are a huge trend at the moment, from celebs like Kylie Jenner to numerous Instagram models, it seems like everyone has had their lips enhanced.
I decided to try out the lips enhancement procedure last year, so I've compiled a list of four things you should know before getting your lips done.
Lip injections involve needles, therefore, the procedure can be painful. Prior to booking an appointment, you have to be prepared for a little bit of discomfort. Although most clinics (to my knowledge) use numbing creams, the procedure can still be painful as the skin on that area is delicate. How painful the procedure is likely to be will largely depend on your own pain level tolerance. So if you are extremely scared of needles or if you have low pain tolerance you might want to give lip injections a second thought.
2. The swelling

You may experience swelling and bruising after getting your lips done. The level of swelling and bruising will vary from person to person. Your specialist will advise you on aftercare and things you should do to reduce the swelling, but on average it takes about a week for the bruising to go down. However, if it has been over a week and you still look like you got punched in the face you may want to go speak to your specialist.
3. The cost

Lip injections can give you the lips you’re envisioning. There are several FDA-approved products out there, such as Juvederm Ultra or Volbella, and Restylane Silk and Refyne. ⠀ Call us for a consultation and we will help guide you as to the best option for you to look your natural best! #drdabbah
The price of the cosmetic procedure also varies (from £50-300+) depending on who you contact and which city you live in. I had the treatment done in a central Birmingham clinic, Destination Skin, and paid £250 for 1 ml of Juvederm (pricey I know! ). Despite the high price, I decided to go to a proper clinic for my first procedure just to ensure that the treatment would be done properly, and so that I had someone to sue in case things went wrong. However, there are plenty of clinics that will do the procedure for a much more affordable price, you just need to research and read their reviews. If you are considering getting your lips surgically enhanced, you need to remember that you have to do it safely or you shouldn't be doing it at all.
4. Don't get carried away
Everything is good in moderation! When getting lip injections it is easy to get carried away so it's important to know your limits. Extremely surgically enhanced lips do not look good on anyone so try not to get carried away. Natural is always best.
